Wendy

First off, I hate writing bios. I always have more to write then I’m sure
other people want to read.

Second off, my name is Wendy. I’m 31 and live in Minneapolis with my partner
and her 12-year-old son. In my personal
blog, I refer to them at The General and Cracken, so I figure I’ll carry
that over to here, too. We have two dogs, both boxers – Riley is 4 (mine
before our household merger) and Kentucky is 3 (The General’s before our
household merger). We’re currently fostering (through Pet Project Rescue) a 4 year old
Chihuahua named Ruby that spent her entire life in a puppy mill. And we have
some guppies. Too many guppies. And all of this takes place in about 1100
square feet.

I’ve loved photography for years and have refused to take the jump to a big
fancy digital SLR, because I can’t shove those in my pockets when I’m going
hiking in various state parks, at the bar for a drag show, or at the thrift
store trying not to die laughing at the box of “private feminine products”
from 1983. I never know when I might find something photo-worthy! I’ve taken
one photography class and the only thing I’ve remembered from it is how to
set the white balance on my point-and-shoot Canon camera, but you’d be
surprised at how much of a difference that makes.

I’ve been a fan of Flickr for years and have always been jealous of people
that can stick out the whole 365 pictures in 365 days project. I’ve tried it
at least half a dozen times and never made it past 50 pictures. I’m hoping
this project will help me do just that.
