Michael and I set out to find a good spot to take a photo of the area around Vacaville for my first post and we found this wonderful walking trail! I've only lived in Northern California for a bit over a month so these golden hills still look and feel alien to me. I'm sure we'll spend much time exploring this area as it is very close to where we live. The ridge of trees across the middle of the photo is hiding the VERY busy Interstate 80. If the traffic isn't too terrible San Francisco is about an hour or so to the left and Sacramento is about 40 minutes to the right. When the traffic is bad, who knows how long it would take!

I love the contrasts of colors in this shot. Beautiful!

The color is just phenominal! If it were a painting, it would look absolutely abstract!

I'm somewhat new to California as well. Been here about four years, and the beauty of the hills and mountains still blows me away daily.

Vacaville isn't far from where I grew up! Odd to see what is essentially my home territory displayed here again. :)
