Not quite sure what kind of flower/plant this is...
They are along the side of the building where I work.
I will have to take a picture of them in the spring when they are in bloom.

I believe this is milkweed.
I agree with Judy. If you break one of the leaves earlier in the season the juice will be white. I love the silky feeling of the seeds.
i concur -- milkweed. i loved to play with them when i was a kid.
and they are the preferred food of Monarch Caterpillars..
