Ugly, yes. But these turkey vultures help keep the dead carcasses off the
roads, so they have a purpose. This one was good enough to give me a nice,

Awesome picture - so cool that you can see his eye!
They're such awesome flyers, and very interesting (they may be one of the only bird species with a good sense of smell). But they are a tad unattractive. And STINKY! :P

They are helpful creatures and thank goodness they do their jobs so well. we would be swamped in decomposition otherwise.
But Stinky - Yes. I used the phrase with Em today regarding her breath:
"Your breath could knock a buzzard off a shitwagon"
and after we were done giggling, we deconstructed why this was SO VERY funny...
