Fairly quiet day so here's another member of our family. This is Stella Moon. She is our Harlequin Great Dane. Very special lady. Drools a bucketful, but her gentle sweetness is worth all the slober.
Stella's cool, but Truman Doo is still my fav........Nothing like breaking into your house in total darkness and Truman just looks at me as if to say...Huh? *duh* LOL!!! Such a goo boy :)
I think she's gorgeous! We lost our Dane, Callie, last Nov. She was the sweetest girl. We still think about getting another Dane - they are the best dogs!
I cannot speak for Marie, but ours was fantastic with kids. (my husband always said that she liked kids but couldn't eat a whole one!) She'd let them draw on her with chalk, pull up using her ears for leverage, etc. Can't sat about the apt. b/c we had her in a house.
It's true. We've had two danes and they are so damn lowkey it's not funny. Sure they have hyper moments and you must watch out, but nothing nothing nothing like other breeds. As far as being wonderful with kids Stella is a peach. Very tolerant and loving. Our previous was not like this. He was incredibly violent and we had to get rid of him at 9 months. Even at 8 weeks old he'd attack and growl. I've never seen any dog do that before at that young an age so I would guess that had more to do with something mis-firing in his brain rather than a behavioral issue.

I have read that they are great "apt. dogs" and great with kids. Is that true?
