It made it! While I was in Oregon, I bought this artwork for my guy's
birthday. The shipping service used by the place where I bought it was
already closed for the day at the time. We took it somewhere else and were
told it would cost at least $200 to pack and ship it. Yikes!!! So my
brother and I painstakingly packed it ourselves (multiple layers of bubble
wrap, extra padding on the corners, lots of styrofoam peanuts, two layers of
customized boxes, etc.), and he shipped it after I left early on a Monday.
My guy opened it today on his birthday and I was delighted to see that it
made it intact. Yes!

I've recently moved into a new office and I'm working on giving it some
life. I had a few of my photos enlarged and picked up some frames today.
I'll take them into the office Monday and hopefully hang them on the wall.

I'm so thankful for St. Joseph. I'm not sure of the story behind him, but I
know he represents a wonderful hospital. Nathan's mom's surgery went well.
They removed the tumor and it is being tested. From all indications from
the surgeon, it does not appear to have spread to any other parts. She was
on a ventilator, which was disturbing as we weren't sure if she would have
to be on it for long. This can be complicated for someone that has a
history of breathing issues. Well, before we left tonight, the ventilator
had been removed and her oxygen level was at 96% which is awesome. Most of
all I am thankful for answered prayers.

This giant head is on I-80 in WY. I've driven that way no less than 8 times.
I swear I've never seen it. It says it was erected in 1959!

We went to an art show today, and it was kinda artsy fartsy. But there was
an artist who just incorporated wings and kitchen appliances in his
sculptures. I know these aren't functional, but it was different. I still
can't decide if I like it, hate it, or what....lol

This guy, David Rice Atchinson, was president for 1 day in before Zachary
Taylor took office. I read about it in the Mini Page when I was a kid. In my
High School Civics class no one would believe me. AFter I graduated my
sister saw an article about it. Sent me a copy in an envelope that said
"you're not crazy!" and she also sent copies of the articles to both of my
former teachers! We drove to CA through MO JUST so I could see this statue!
