This little boat was sailed around the world by a crazy Englishman. And I
ended this year feeling about as tired as if I had done so, too!

I arrived in Guadalajara today to visit with my cousin for a few days. Here

Today my cousin and her husband took me to spend a night in Manzanilla de la
Paz, a town in the mountains outside Guadalajara. It is near another town,
Mazamitla, which is a popular tourist destination, but is much quieter. Here
is the view from our hotel.

Since I am trying to get over a cold I asked room service to send me up some

I had a really, really, really shitty day today with the exception of lunch
at Fonda el Refugio in Mexico City, featuring guacamole and salsa verde and
quesadillas with huitlacoche. Oh yum.

Went to dinner in celebration of Anthony's mom's birthday - a wonderful
restaurant named Clos Maggiore near Covent Garden.

Last night we went to dinner with friends and had the most wonderful Thai
food! The place is called Together and it is YUM!

I've been in a work-inspired funk for weeks, but I'm determined to get
better with my pics.
Spaghetti bolognese is total comfort food for me; it was a favorite family
dish growing up. Anyway, I made the sauce last night for Anthony and me to
eat tonight, but it turns out he can't come over so I'm eating it myself.

Today I applied for citizenship in the UK - I was soooo nervous even though
I have a straightforward application. Anyway, it's all in now!
