Good-bye to Envisage Year Two! How sad. I am so grateful to have been a
part of the project. I learned more in the past year thru pictures (taking
and seeing all of yours) than I did in any year of schooling. I learned the
strength of women. We really are awesome, wonderous beings. Thank you,
each and every one of you, for sharing a small piece of yourself and your
day-to-day life with me. It has been an honor.

Technology FAIL. Zane has only had one phone call while in boot camp - for
2 minutes about 3 weeks ago. Sunday late afternoon/evening we were grilling
out. I even walked in and got my phone JUST IN CASE he might call. My
phone died. I have never let my phone go completely dead before. Kip's
phone was still on his motorcycle from his ride earlier in the day. Of
course, as luck would have it, Zane DID call. Couldn't get me. Couldn't
get Kip. Couldn't get Ashley (she was in an area with no service) so he
ended up calling his best friend, Denver. Who later called us and told us
he had called. He was so bummed that he didn't get any of us. Of course, I
felt terrible. Ashley was beside herself. It was only much later that I
discovered his text message. Which just started the tears all over again!

We went on a long motorcycle ride Saturday evening. I took this at a stop
for gas. It has been a long time since I've ridden. The last hour or so
was after dark - and it was so wonderful. I wanted to just keep going and
going.

Someone very special (R2) sent me flowers today!!! It was a surprise (can't
remember the last time I got flowers) and such a sweet gesture. I got all
misty-eyed....again!

Mary Jane and I kicked off the big R2/Bridget weekend by making this sign to
hold up at the airport. MJ was so excited I could hardly stand her!
(kidding) We hit a little snag with finding Bridget but we were all
excitedly waiting for R2 as she came into view. It was silly but all of us
were tearing up as we hugged!

Smiling! In his letter I got today, he said he misses music and snacks the
most. They went on a Land Navigation exercise. Because he did the best, he
was assigned to a group that didn't do so well. In the middle of the night,
walking thru dark woods. Lost. After 2 hours (the alloted time) he took
over the compass and got them back to camp in 20 minutes. His quote: "I
don't like idiots and I definitely don't like being lost in the woods at
night with idiots."

This is C. She and R dated for nearly 2 1/2 years. First love. She was
like a part of our family - comes from a very dysfunctional family and so we
practically adopted her. She broke up with R back in the fall....and it was
devastating to him. He lost about 15 pounds, wasn't sleeping....pretty much
fell apart. I had to take him to the doctor to get him straightened out.
So he moved on. Until about 2 weeks ago when they began talking again. And
now....they are dating again. I love her...don't get me wrong. But....oh
the drama. I dread that. And I just hope that they are both stronger and a
little more mature this time around.

R got a job!!! He's working at Arby's. So this is him....of course, not
smiling normally for the camera.

We used to call this the "white house" until K (and MJ's Nathan) painted it
green. Now we just call it the junk house. It is one of our rental
houses. WHY WHY WHY we ever thought owning was a good idea is beyond me.
It is a royal pain in the butt! This house was built in the early 1940's
and is about to fall down. We've evicted more people from this house than
not. It has been vacant since June. FINALLY some one has rented it and
will be moving in this weekend. I swear, K has spent half his summer here
trying (in vain) to fix it up and make it more desirable.
