I was a smartass kid (surprise!) so when my aunt asked what kind of cake I
wanted for my 14th or 15th birthday I said, "a cross dressing Ninja Turtle".
That's exactly what I got.

It's weird to think about how different our relationship is now than it was

Our friend Lindsay was in town visiting family so we had a girls night while
the boys hung out with their friends. This is an old picture of Kathryn and
Lindsay, they've known each other since they were like 5 so they fight like
sisters. It's amusing, mostly.

It's going to be cheat photo week for me. I lost my camera in the post
Christmas clean up so we'll see when that turns up.

This is the door to my first apartment that was really mine instead of
living with family or my ex. If you can't read the pictures it says, "Merry
Christmas Bitches!". Our neighbors thought we were weird.

Ryan and Avery enjoying her new school bus! Right after this they ran into
me and as she went by she stuck her head out the window and yelled, "Sowwry,
sowry". So smart, she knows to apologize after you run someone over.

We went to Kathryn's tonight to have holiday game night with friends who
were in from out of town. I did actually take pictures of people but I
looked awful in all of them so you get a picture of my game piece from
Quelf, which is a weird sort of Cranium rip off. It was definitely weirder.

Avery taking poor Suzy on a walk while we waited for Ryan to get home. I'm
grateful that our pets are very patient with her.

I took this picture at 6 am on Monday morning intending to post later about
how annoyed I was that someone made coffee Sunday and then didn't clean the
pot. Then when I went downstairs after everyone left for work I realized the
culprit had not only cleaned the pot but loaded the dishwasher and cleaned
off the counter. I also realized that I pulled the coffee maker out to take
the picture and left it in the middle of the counter, so we'll never know if
it would have gotten cleaned had I left it on the back of the counter.

At our friend dinner yesterday we all made ginger bread houses from yummy
ginger bread that Amanda 2 made.

Avery climbed in my bed, snuggled up under the covers, and then ate all my
hidden stash of toffee popcorn. I am totally embarassed about the state of
my bed but I had to strip the pillowcases because my hair was still leaving
red all over everything and haven't put them back on yet.

Everything in the Spongebob paper is Avery's, plus 2 things that still need
to be put together and hidden outside because they're too big to wrap. This
is what happens when you're only kid in both family's under 13 and the first
grandchild. This is all of it though, all the family sent her gifts here so
it's contained. We are definitely doing a massive cleaning/donating/boxing
up of the toys she already has before next Friday.

We got what is hopefully the last of the Christmas boxes today and Avery
decided presents are overrated, but sitting on the box is awesome! She spent
10 minutes using it as a chair before she'd let me have it.

Tonight we had friends over for dinner and decorating cookies. These
beauties are from my friend Amanda 2's hand series.
It was a good day, even if we were up way past bedtime on a school night.
Christmas is a time for breaking the rules, right? At least that's what I'm
going to tell Ryan when he asks why I'm having sugar cookies for breakfast
tomorrow morning.

Color is done! This isn't actually a good representation of how it looks, it
is bright red but it looks a bit darker than this without the flash like a
foot away from my head. The purple didn't really come out but that's my own
fault, I tried a shortcut instead of sticking to my usual streaking method.
I'll try and get a decent picture soon!

We took Avery out to get her Christmas dress and she refused to take it off
in the dressing room. The cashier was really amused when I said, "Avery,
come here and let the lady scan you". I let her keep it on until lunch,
there's no way those furry sleeves would make it through that.
