While we were gone celebrating Turkey Day with my parents in NJ, Josie
barfed on some of my Thesis pages that I left out. I hope that's not an
indication of the quality of my work...

The tour of diners continues - this place is one of my favorites and
actually called the Omega Diner. The burned out lights were just too funny
not to snap a photo!

Boyfriend's first pork roll - a must-eat when you're visiting a New Jersey
diner! I think he was pleasantly surprised.

Cut my hair...about four inches off. I don't love it yet, the top and front
layers are too long. But it's better than it was, at least.

Boyfriend painted almost the whole living room - had to move my books around
to paint the shelves. Gosh, somebody has an addiction!

It's hard to tell in this pic, but that's my boyfriend's dog, Seb, and my
cat, Josie, rolling around together. PLAYING. SNUGGLING. Talk about a
milestone! I think we're officially a family now!!

I try to catch up on my life.

Cheat pic - Sterling Vineyards, Napa Valley, California, from a trip my Mom
and I took in 2007 to visit a potential grad school.
Earlier that day Mom told me she had an abnormal mammogram weeks before, but
didn't want to tell me sooner because of the trip. We found out a couple
days later that it was cancer. She had a double mastectomy right after I
graduated from college, chemo and more surgeries throughout the fall and
winter. Sometimes, even now, I want to weep when I think about it.
Feeling homesick lately, I guess.

Today I handed in my finished thesis manuscript, to be read and picked apart
by my board members. On December 1 I find out if I pass or not.
More than that, though, I've been thinking a lot lately about what's next,
what's ahead. I'm getting tired of Pittsburgh, having been here since 2003.
Boyfriend suggested we move to Seattle. I think I'm going to take him up on
that. A change of scenery sounds perfect.

Pittsburgh drivers make me CRAZY. You'd think drivers in a town with as many
rivers and bridges and mountains would be less stupid about having to go
through tunnels, but you'd be wrong. A tunnel means everybody stomps on the
brake and slows to a crawl. 21 mph on the highway is unacceptable!

Been really longing for horses lately. Has it been 5 years since I last
rode?!
