This was taken while we were on the hunt for a geocache. We didn't plan on it being such a long hike (up and down, over and through), but it was totally worth it, plus we managed to take a flat way back to the car.
My brother is a HUGE geocaching fan. I have yet to try for my first, but I *do* have a travelbug to place when I find it! (My brother has several travelbugs wandering around these days!)
I geochache too!! Love it!! It has helped me to discover so many local places I never knew existed!! Ive done them in Bermuda bahamas, lots of states and Epcot too!! Lots of fun!!
Bridget it's like a treasure hunt where most of the fun is in the finding, and the treasure is pretty chintzy but awesome nonetheless. People hide containers of various sizes, post the coordinates on geocaching.com, and the other people look for them using a GPS unit (or an app on a smart phone). I've absolutely found what Maureen said to be true, and like J, I've found so many places in my own neck of the woods I'd not known about before.
Particularly for me, it's been a way to exercise without it seeming so much like EXERCISE, especially on the days when the trail is much longer than we'd expected. :)

What is a geocache? A grouping of rocks??
We almost always end up having a 'totally worth it' time when we're geocaching. Even if we don't find the cache.

That's a hoot! I've never heard of it. I thought you were a geologist or something!
