Got my hair cut today. I didn't do because I wanted shorter hair, because
in reality I only feel 'right' with long hair. I didn't do it to donate the
hair, although that's where the hunk of hair will likely go. I did it
because while the rest of my world feels like it's spinning out of my
control, this was something I COULD control. Plus, the man likes my hair
long, so it was something I could take away in retaliation for the hell I've
been going through. Stupid reasons, and I regret doing it already, but it is
what it is. It will grow back.

I'm sorry you did it for all of those reasons. :-(
But, take joy in washing it and having your head feel so much lighter initially. ;-) And it will grow back.
I hope life feels a little more in control for you soon.
