My mom from the summit of the South Sister.
I'm back from my vacation with my mom and it was amazing! I love her
so much, partially because we travel so well together, but mostly
because she is so inspiring; it's difficult to find women as strong as
her to look up to. We summited one mountain and traveled just over 70
miles of trail in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area mostly on the
Pacific Crest Trail over 11 days and 10 nights. Our packs started at
just under 50 lbs (ugh) and we spent most of the time was spent around
6000 feet elevation. This picture was taken at over 10000 feet
elevation. I'm so proud of my mom for making it to the top. That day
was probably one of the most difficult mentally for us because it is
literally a straight climb up to the top over loose cinder and lava
rock, but she made it! We were one of the last ones down the mountain
that day (it's pretty popular so there was a lot of traffic), and I
know that her good spirits brought smiles to more than one person who
shared the mountain with us that day. Never once did she complain,
lose her spirits or the smile on her face. If she can make it to the
top of a mountain, anyone can!

This sounds like a great trip! I have to ask, how old is your mom?
