I know it's probably melodramatic, but I feel so sad for the goose. She probably never expected that as she took flight into the sky, it would be her last day alive.
I'm with vixen on this. While I respect everyone's right to make the decision for themselves about how they're going to interact with the other creatures on earth - I really do. For me, personally, though, this is a life just like any other, like mine, like my loved ones & now it's ended. And, that's sad (for me).
I feel differently about hunters - like Jacinthe's husband - who hunt and Eat their game. Canada Goose populations get out of control otherwise.
I am a Non-hunter - non gun owner, but I also lived in New Hampshire and Vermont where hunting for food was part of the culture of some families. Emily's best friend is going deer hunting with her Dad in NH this year for the first time. For that family, they truly hunt and Eat what is caught - it is a continuation of a family culture that is actually in some ways much more in tune with Where their food comes from and how it gets processed.
thanks dawn, you trully explain what I was going to answer! I hunt with my husband, and everything we hunt, will be eat. For me, it's the best way to find local and bio food for a very good price. My husband come from a family of hunters, so it's a long tradition for us.

Those feathers are incredible! They look so soft.
Wow, I didn't know you could hunt them. I was told that even if my dogs killed one I could be fined. They are such a nuisance around here.
I've heard of them attacking kids.
My dad is a huge hunter. I've sure seen my share of those over the years. I remember posing with them as a kid.
Hardly an endangered species, so I say go for it!
