Messy Office Personal Challenge:

This is my home office. It is so messy that I can't actually use it
and have to work from my family room. I'm completely overwhelmed by
it. It is one of those one pile begets another pile and so on...

I'm submitting this picture to show the "before". My personal
challenge is to submit an "after" on/by next Monday.

Hey Pam! Good luck. It doesn't look as bad as it is in your head...just take it one section at a time. If you do a section everyday, it will be done in no time. I usually end up filing papers last, thats the part that irks me the most

Me too...I have boxes of papers. Thanks for your support!!! I have another room worse than this that will be my focus next month!

Make sure you bring a big bag in there to throw stuff away too. That should help a bit. Just take it a bit at a time. We will be reminding you if we don't see the AFTER by the first of next week. Pressure is on!!.... Ha!! :)

And when you're done there I have an office that needs organizing... ;-)

I don't know if you'll find this helpful or not but what works sometimes for me to get started on a big cleaning project is to set a timer for one hour and keep working for one solid hour without stopping (no phone calls or interruptions). You'd be surprised what you can accomplish in an hour. Then at the end of the hour I survey my progress and it usually looks better than it did. Once I start to see the progress then it's easier to get more motivated to keep going. It's the first hour that's the worst. Oh and of course in my cleaning method after the first hour you get a treat. :-)

If that treat involves chocolate or ice cream I think I'm gonna like this one hour timer method. I have a few rooms that need it too.
