Took my 15 year-old to the doctor's office today and this was hanging
on the wall. I love the facial expressions on the pain scale.

Those are hilarious. I wish they had them for gynecologists offices...

As a CNA I have little cards that MUST be in my pocket at all times (at work), on side is that same thing.... not really sure what they were supposed to do... teach us to read faces??

Maybe the faces are for kids who can't read the numbers or yet comprehend the correlation between the numbers and degrees of pain?

Jennifer - HAHAHA!! They DO need these at the gynecologist's office.

Niki - lol not sure. My Mom is a nurse and I remember her talking about these too.

Karen - My 15-year old was there because she told me her heels hurt so bad she couldn't stand it while she was playing field hockey. When the nurse asked her yesterday "on a scale from 0-10 when the pain is at its WORST.. what number is it?" My daughter said "um, I dunno... like a 2 I guess."
A TWO!?!? Those faces do NOT work :D
