The school where I'm working on my MFA is co-ed at the graduate level but
women-only for undergrads. As such it has kind of reputation of being full
of lesbians and works hard to be supportive of LGBT students. They're
celebrating Coming Out Week on campus and did the annual chalking of the
quad - a fun bit of activism where messages of love and equality are
scrawled in chalk on all the walkways. I like wandering to class and reading
them (things like, "GAY IS GREAT!" and "i kissed a girl...and i love her!").
It's such a wonderful change from my conservative Catholic alma mater.
