Took a rather pensive self portrait today.
Had my work review today. I've worked realyl hard over the year, the bosses
have noticed, and that equals.... a 25 cent an hour raise. weeeee.
When I got home my Dad was watching a discovery channel show about whats
going on in Afganistan. While they were filming, one of the other trucks in
their convoy hit a IED and took out a bunch of guys. I felt like I was going
to be sick. One of my oldest friends, Jackie, is over there with the
national guard. I'm not quite sure what he is doing, but he might get to
come home at Christmas. He and I have been friends since the 1st grade.
I can't imagine how all of you ladies who have husbands and signifigant
others and family over there. I mean, I care about Jackie as a dear friend,
but having someone I love over there..... I couldn't handle it.
I admire you guys for that. I can't wait till everyone comes home.

The 25 cent raise was one of the many reasons I no longer work for that particular company.
Well, look on the bright side........I got one of the best reviews I've ever received last year, and actually got a 5% pay cut (company wide). I was WAY bummed, but then I had to think.......at least I still have a job. (for now...) And I can't even imagine having super close loved ones over there....Depressing! Glad your friend Jackie is okay. {{hugs}} to everyone that has loved ones over there........and poopie job raises, if at all, or....no job. Very scary world this is turning out to be.....
