(Yes, I know her toenails need cutting)

This is Lola's paw. She's 9 1/2 years old. She's healthy and active but I
am beginning to see signs of her aging. She has 2 silver whiskers. She's
slowing down. And her paws are graying. I cannot even think about her not
being a part of our lives. My youngest was just in 1st grade when we
brought her home. She's slept with one of my boys almost every day of her
life. I hope we have many, many years ahead of us with her in them.

i love dog's feet. it's so hard when they get old - breaks your heart seeing all those grey hairs.

I smell fritos. Oh how I love that dog. I'd like to nibble on her paw.

You know, I had my cat for 19 years and still miss him, even though at the end I am not sure he quite knew who I was all the time.

Its a gift, this love between a pet and human. I think it teaches us compassion and caring in a way that can't be replicated.

Lola will be there for your boys long after she ceases to live, just as my cat still lives in a part of my heart - and a part of my brain that takes the care and health of my pets as seriously as I do. Every pet they have in life will be a tribute to Lola.
