Cindy 80/365

I had heard that our local capped landfill was on the site of the old
poorhouse. What I did not realize that there was also a poorhouse cemetery
there. I can't help but think this is highly disturbing; we buried trash on
top of dead people?

This picture was taken at the transfer station between the scrap metal and
freon recovery station and the Planet Aid textile boxes.

It clearly bothered someone else too - enough to have the memorial made and placed.

Rutland has had quite a lot of indigent poor - the railway made it a "good" spot for them ...and when the factories were more active, they could even find piecemeal jobs. But now? It is sad Cindy and I am glad you took a picture of this.

:( This is very sad and the type of image that makes you wish you could do something to change it.

Yeah, not a great situation but I am glad these souls are memorialized. Thanks for the pic. Will send them some love.;-)
