Driving down a local road which I use often I happened upon this barn that I
had never noticed before. Reason being it was hidden behind several huge
maple and oak trees which are now being cleared in preparation for
demolition of all the buildings on the property. I came back later with
camera and took some photos of it and the house. Seems sad...the date on a
concrete gate post read 1921. At one time this was a thriving farm with 50
or more acres but now it will be cleared for a commercial business.
Progress I guess.

Wow, what a delightful old building! It made a lump in my throat to read of the demolition.

I was sitting here wondering if I was the only one who thought it was quite sad, and then I read your caption! Nice shot! Bex

We took down the barn at my grandpa's place 2 years ago. It was sad, but the insurance and upkeep on it was too much especially since it's no longer a livestock farm. I HATE to see them go!

That story makes me sad. Glad you got a picture.
