My neighbors had this magnificent oak tree cut down today. Their reason....we don't like all the acorns it drops and its too much work to clean up all the leaves....no tree huggers there! It took them about 8 hours to cut down and clean up.
SAD! My husband would cut down every stinking tree around because of the leaves. I honestly think you should have to get approval before you can cut a tree down...and I think I should be the one who they have to ask and I will always say NO! Signed...Tree Hugger!:)
I'm a city person so I don't know about having to deal w/ acorns or leaves but that looks like quite the undertaking and rather severe, actually. Couldn't they prune or something?
that PISSES me off!! I have a White Oak in my yard (the one that produces those HUGE nuts I've posted) and she is my baby. Everything we do in our yard it to protect that tree. They're rare for our part of the city, plus it's a TREE!!!
I'll be on that Committe with Robin above, and I will second her NO!

I HATE people like that. Oaks are so hard to keep alive it infuriates me that someone is cutting one down!
That's so sad! It takes sooooo long to grow an oak to that size.
