Thank you all. You know, I really hesitated sending in that pic but then I thought F-it! This is my reality and it's not pretty right now. So what? I wanted to show the truth; not more banana bread and lattes like I've been doing. It was hard to hit send, but it felt good after I did it. It was a release of sorts.
I made an appointment with a counselor for Monday. My husband refuses to attend any form of counseling, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to at least give it a go myself. I didn't tell him about the appointment because I figured he would't understand why I still want to go even if he doesn't. I am too tired to have another argument. I've never been to a counselor or had any form of therapy before. This is all new territory for me but I figured it can't hurt and it might help. So there you have it.
Thank you all for giving me a safe space to express my reality through pictures.
Glad you're seeing a counselor, Laura. Your marriage is in a low place but being able to talk through it with a neutral professional can really help. Good luck and good for you for taking that step.
I'm sorry you're going through this, but I'm glad you feel free to express your reality. We are all here for you as much as we can be, just know that. And like Dawn said, it's okay to do what you need to! Bex.
been there- and it SUCKS. But a year later, I'm fine, he's fine, and we are going to be friends down the road (we have to, we have a daughter together) Days will be up and down, its weird, but you will know the day when you are doing it for you. Big Positive Vibes Your Way~~~

I think going to a counselor is a good move...it sure helped my daughter through some hard times and her husband did not participate with her.

Way to take care of yourself, Laura. You're doing the right thing by seeing a counselor. It can only help.
yes - counseling even by yourself is an excellent step in the right direction - no matter what the future holds. good for you. and best of luck.
Best of luck. I hope the counseling gives you clarity in whichever direction life is supposed to take you.
