We drove downtown with the kids today to go to the Trail of Lights. We
parked at our friend's house and hiked down to the site to discover we'd
arrived one day before it actually started. Oops. This is the number of
miles we walked there and back. But, you know what? It was actually really
okay. The big tree was up so we could spin around underneath it. We got
the kids light up plastic swords. We stopped at McDonalds on the way back
to the car. Then, on a side street, a couple showed us a little screech owl
in a tree. So low in a tree we could see it's eyes. We dumped sleeping
kids in bed upon our arrival home and are now having a comfy cozy evening.
