We got a cat bed at Target the other day and look, one of the cats is
actually USING it! I seriously had my doubts that either one of them would;
I figured it'd be the dog trying to fold his leggy 36-pound frame into it.

I had the same bed for my 2 cats and one day I found the 2 of them sleeping in it. Each of them we're about 15 pounds, so one was actually on top of the others!
Your cat and my dog weigh the same! Maybe my dog isn't as fat as I think!!
