Sooooooooooooooo, I'm thinking about getting a tattoo! It would be my
first.
I've been printing out pictures of tattoos that I think are
interesting/pretty.
I won't go nearly as big as what you see in the pictures but you get the
gist.
Thoughts, ladies? Ideas? Advice?

Best advice on getting a tattoo that I can give is to get something that means something to you. I have 4 currently. 2 butterflies (my totem "animal"), a ladybug from a nickname in HS from a good friend of mine, and a pentagram to signify my rejection of Christian mythology. Also, consider placement. Are you going to want to show it off or be able to cover it up?

Don't.

I would love to get a tattoo, but I'm to scare! If you want it, go for it girl!

i say go for it if it is something you want. i agree that it is best if it has some special meaning to you. i have three...and i guess i am a baby because they HURT SO BAD. no more for me. i just can't stand the pain! be warned though....it is sort of addictive!

I want another one. Possibly on the top of my foot but I 've heard it hurts like Hell. I say go for it. I have no idea what you should get.

I have two. The best advice I can give you is to do extensive research on the style of tattoo you'd like and then just start looking at as many different tattoo artists' work as you can. It's on your body forever and it's a work of art. Don't sacrifice - find an amazing artist that you admire and trust. - Shannon

Yep, I say go for it too. I am really glad I did. I am also glad that it's in a spot that it's covered up 95% of the time unless I am wearing a bathing suit. Definitely make sure it's what you want...represents something special to you and research the tatto artist. Certain parts of the body are more tender than others so it could hurt depending on where you get it. I got mine in the lower back and it wasn't too terribly bad.

Crazy addicting. Love mine, want more. Need more places to hid them. Agreed with all of the above posters. The fleshier the spot, generally the less pain. On bone tends to hurt more. R2 I'd like a foot one as well.

Ribs hurt like an SOB as does the foot. Make sure you research the artist too. Don't cheap out and make sure you two are on the same page. Make sure you eat before you go and keep something like gatorade to drink nearby in case you feel woozy. I take Advil part way through. DO NOT TAKE TYLONAL! It will make you bleed more.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Still mulling it over. :-) Very enticed by the whole idea, though. Shannon, I love yours. It's so pretty.
