A railway bridge that I pass under to & from work most days. Each time I
pass under it now, I remember passing under it years ago, with my mom, when
she told me that E J & E Ry meant 'Elgin, Joliet & East Railway' & told me
about taking that train to Joliet for a night out, when she was younger
herself.

That's a cool story. We had a railway that passed my grandma's farm. Every so often at family events my father would tell me about his mom and dad taking a nickel and walking on the railroad track to Ringsted (three miles away) and going to a movie and having a milkshake afterwards. I'm pretty sure I'm remembering the nickel right. Now the railroad tracks are gone.
