As some of you know, Heidi was the German Shepherd I had before Rixi, and
she died of cancer about a year ago. My daughter recently gave me one of
her sunflowers to put on Heidi's grave. It was a ridiculously hot sunny
morning when I did so (heat index of 118 later that day), but I was at the
house to mow and it had to be done. Shortly after I placed the flower, it
clouded up and stayed cloudy until just after I finished mowing. I like to
think that was Heidi's way of continuing to look out for me.
